Easynews will be moving the beta NNTP farms into production at
10:00 MST (17:00 GMT) today (April 6, 2009).

At this time we will be moving DNS to point to the new server farms.
We suggest everyone start moving to the beta farms now so when DNS is
moved, there will not be any problems with article counts and
numbering.   When switching addresses, please be sure to purge the
groups and reload them.  Some newsreaders may require that the profile
for the old addresses be deleted all together and a new profile be
created.

The NNTP servers will still have the 25% discount on file downloads
and header downloads will still be free.  The retention for the NNTP
servers will be ~200 days for binary files.

Our U.S. and EU NNTP server farm information can be found below.

For the US farm, the hostnames are:
news.us.easynews.com - Listens for NNTP on port 119
proxy.news.us.easynews.com - Listens for NNTP on ports 21, 22, 23, 25,
53, 80, 110, 443, 8000 and 8080
secure.news.us.easynews.com - Listens for NNTPS (SSL) on ports 21, 22,
23, 25, 53, 80, 110, 119, 443, 563, 8000 and 8080

For the EU farm, the hostnames are:
news.eu.easynews.com - Listens for NNTP on port 119
proxy.news.eu.easynews.com - Listens for NNTP on ports 21, 22, 23, 25,
53, 80, 110, 443, 8000 and 8080
secure.news.eu.easynews.com - Listens for NNTPS (SSL) on ports 21, 22,
23, 25, 53, 80, 110, 119, 443, 563, 8000 and 8080

The old addresses, news.easynews.com, proxy.news.easynews and
secure.news.easynews.com will geolocate to the nearest server farm.

In moving the beta servers into production, we will decommission the
old farm and use its space to house new equipment to bolster the HTTP
side of Easynews.
